About

Writing

I fell in love with reading in the first grade when I recognized my first words, “This is Jane,” and I’ve been a voracious reader ever since. I fell in love with writing in the third grade when my first written poem was published in the school newspaper. That same year, I fell in love with music when I took my first piano lesson, and it’s been a toss-up between those two passions ever since!

Painting

At the age of thirty-six, I took my first art lesson and fell in love with painting. I then added art to my “passion” list. As an elementary teacher for twenty-five years, I incorporated writing, music, and art into my curriculum.

His and Hers Paintings

At age fifty-five, I once again “fell in love” but this time with a person. After Don and I married two years later, I was able to devote full time to my writing, music, and painting. One of the fun things Don and I share is entertaining with sing-a-longs and corny jokes at nursing homes and previously at the VA Hospital in Michigan. We consider ourselves blessed to have each other and to lead the fulfilling life we experience each day.
